I read this prayer today, and I wanted to share it with you. Is there anyone out there like me who is searching for your calling? I hope this prayer will minister to you today.

Prayer for One’s Calling

Almighty God, our heavenly Father,
Who declares Your glory and shows forth Your handiwork
in the heavens and in the earth;
Deliver us, we beseech You, in our several callings,
from the service of mammon*
That we may do the work which You give us to do,
in truth, in beauty, and in righteousness,
with singleness of heart as thy servants,
and to the benefit of our fellow men;
For the sake of Him who came among us as One that serves,
Your Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

* I looked up mammon (kind of an old word, huh?). It means “material wealth or possessions.”

I’ve reached a point in my life where I KNOW certain things I have to do every day — I’m a wife, mother, daughter, sister, neighbor, and friend.
